Common Rooms / A Rise And Shine BB

"Ruelís Gallery and Tea room"
New York may have its famous "Ruelís Gallery,"   Here in Maine,  A Rise and Shine B & B  proudly boasts its very own!  Our formal  dining room gallery  displays the paintings of  Innkeeper/Owner, Lorette, and local artist, the late Ruel Crocker.  Sit here and become immersed  in the many moods of art.  Relax, watch the fire in the grand marbled fireplace.  Chat, play cards/games, listen to soft music and/or sip a beverage in the round window seats which overlook  the natural beauty of the Maine woods.

The Helen C. Anderson Library
*Double Size Sofa Bed/full mattress comfort
*Half Bath, private
Named after our most endeared Monmouth grade school teacher, the library wainscoting and built-in bookshelves  are from the grand  Skyhawk Mansion formerly in Scarborough, Maine. The library  is an elegant and cozy refuge where you can sit by the fire and peruse our book collection, watch early evening television or enjoy a taped movie.

Formal Dining Room   (allergy free)
The smaller of our three dining rooms, this formal room is elegantly appointed with handpainted turn of the century antiques, chandelier, elegant silk topiaries, marbled lower walls, hand painted striped walls, silver and crystal serving ware.   It is a truly elegant and relaxing dining space.

Breakfast Room Dining Area
A large sunny indoor room that looks/feels  like an outdoor patio with a  Spectacular Lake and pasture view.  It is a kid friendly dining area and adjoins the kitchen where you can watch and chat with our friendly cook!  It adjoins the sunny outdoor patio and garden and features the work of local artists.   This is a multifunctional room and often serves as a buffet service center, or a  sitting room

The Fifties Kitchen and Butlerís Pantry
A  unique and grand kitchen and pantry designed and built in the fifties for staff only cooking.  Original ovens and  cabinets are lovingly restored.  Those of you "over fifty something folks" may be wanting  to rock Ďn roll through this culinary space.

Family Room/Music Room
Although usually the private sanctum  of the Innkeepers, we often
welcome  guests to this large and informal room so that they might enjoy our resident Innkeeperís extensive singing talents or join a group to share  popcorn in front of a movie. Guests may well share their talent  or a sing along at our upright grand piano.  (trained pianists only, please. )This large and bright room can easily seat twenty music lovers.  Warning: Please bring your singing voice;  we truly do like to encourage folks to sing along!

Farmerís Porch
Our large Vista farmerís porch is a great vantage point from which to watch the sunrise, ponder on the horses grazing in the pasture, leisurely sip a beverage or curl up with the newspaper or a good book.  (Weíve been known to have unplanned naps here.)  The porch is appointed with comfortable old and new wicker, garden implements, and it overlooks the flower garden, frog pond, and fountains. It is adjacent to the outdoor patio.

The patio is the perfect spot for viewing the sunrise, the lake and the surrounding countryside.  Flower and herb gardens surround the cafe seating and a colorful variety of hummingbirds find it a favorite visiting spot.  It is a large and relaxing area, covered with a stationary awning for 'rain or shine' use.  It is used for guest breakfasts and large group parties.

We have found that some guests are  tempted to sample the herbs and we  have even found gardeners at heart  weeding the flower garden!  We love it when guests make themselves at  home!
